Opening Prayer - Heavenly Father we thank You for this opportunity to worship You and study Your Word. We're eternally thankful that the Holy Spirit has given us a knowledge about Your Word, the Bible, so that we can help lead other people to Your Son. We're especially thankful for the opportunity to do this series on false teachings. Please help us to not be deceived by these teachings. We pray that everyone who reads or listens to these sermons who are not a Christian will become a Christian. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

False Teachings

The Lord has led me to do a Sunday evening series on popular teaching in churches that has literally sent people to hell. The unfortunate thing is that these pastors and teachers refuse to admit that they are wrong and change their views. However, not all of these pastors and teachers are trying to trick people, but it is very important for you to learn about these unbiblical views and warn others so they will not be deceived by these false teachings. Therefore, please pass these sermons on to others.

Before I begin to warn you about teachings that are false, the Bible actually instructs members of a church to remove people from their church who claim to be Christians, but they refuse to stop their evil ways. This definitely includes proven false teachers who are pastors and Sunday school teachers. 1 Corinthians 5:12,13; 2 John 1: 9-11; 1 Corinthians 5:2,7; 2 Corinthians 6:14-16; 2 Corinthians 11:3-6,12-15; 1 Timothy 1:3; 3:1-10; and Titus 1:6-9 support this.

False Teaching # 26 -

Being willing to repent of your sins isn't a part of becoming a Christian. You don't have to be willing to repent because, for example, if you are watching pornography you can say to yourself, "I am the righteousness in Christ." As a result, you will feel guilty and stop watching it.

The Bible's Teaching -

The apostle Paul told Timothy to flee youthful lusts - 2 Timothy 2:22 says, "Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart." 2 Corinthians 6:17 adds, "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you," Ephesians 5:8-13 also says, "8For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 13But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light."

So, instead of flirting with sin, we are told to flee, come out from among them and be separate, and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness. When we flirt with sin, we are right where the devil wants us to be. This happened to Eve in Genesis 3:1-7 which says, "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons."

Just how the devil persuaded Eve in the Garden of Eden to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he tempts us today. Whenever someone says to them self, "I'll just watch a little bit of pornography today.", the devil persuades them, "God doesn't mind if you watch this; He doesn't want to take away all of your fun. Jesus has washed away your sins, so you're going to heaven no matter what." As a result, the person thinks that it's fine to flirt with sin instead of obeying 2 Timothy 2:22, 2 Corinthians 6:17, and Ephesians 5:8-13. When the person is bothered while watching pornography and quits watching after they say, "I am the righteousness in Christ.", they think that is proof that they are a Christian (Hebrews 12:5-11), and whenever they want to watch pornography or sin in another way again, they can go through the same process. They have the wrong idea.

Revelation 3:19 says, "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent." This verse means if someone is bothered and upset because they are lukewarm (They haven't tried to live perfectly like Jesus lived.), that means Jesus is disciplining them, they belong to Him and are saved, and they just need to be zealous and repent because they are lukewarm. However, it doesn't always necessarily end there, and many people do not understand what the word ‘zealous’ means.

Many people have made a decision to get saved in the past, and if they read this and know that they haven't spent their time imitating and thinking the way Jesus thought while He was on the earth, they are probably upset because they haven't been living that way (Revelation 3:19). Since they are upset, they believe that is proof that Jesus is disciplining them because they belong to Him (are saved), in the same way a father disciplines his son (explained in Hebrews 12:5–11). So, they say to them self, "All I have to do is repent by asking God to forgive me for being lukewarm (not trying their best to live the Christian life), and I'm good to go." The big question is, “Did they really repent when they asked God to forgive them? Were they “zealous”?” (A simple summary of how they need to be willing to live "from this moment on and for the rest of their life" is - when they aren't witnessing to and/or doing other things to help others, they try to spend the rest of their time thinking about the things of God. In conclusion, if you have asked Jesus into your heart, believed that He is the Savior, or prayed or made a decision to trust Jesus' death on the cross and His shed blood to erase your sins and let you into Heaven, etc., but you haven't obeyed 2 Timothy 2:22, 2 Corinthians 6:17, and Ephesians 5:8-13,  please follow this website - http://chriswaug5.wix.com/makingsure

If you have prayed or made a decision to become a Christian, but you are not sure that you are really a Christian (Hebrews 11:6, Matthew 21:18-22, 1 John 5:14, and Hebrews 11:1), you need to be sure - please follow this website - http://chriswaug5.wix.com/howtogotoheaven
