For Sunday evening services, the Lord has lead me to do a Bible study for practical Bible verses in Mark. Please come back to these Bible lessons in order to review them and learn them. Whenever we have learned the meaning of Bible verses and think about them throughout each day, we will be in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Not only that, but when we are in a situation in our daily lives and are tempted to sin, we can think back to what we have learned from the Bible and say to ourselves, "The Bible says not to do what I am tempted to say, think, do, and/or desire right now, so I am going to refuse to give in to this temptation." This is what Romans 12:2 means, and it says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." This is also the pattern that Jesus used when the devil tempted Him to sin in Matthew 4:1-11.

Chapter 10

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO MARK

Mark 10:17-31

23And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! 24And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! 25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 26And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? 27And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

The only way someone who is over the age of accountability can enter into the kingdom of heaven is if they become a Christian. There isn't anything we can do by our own power that will allow us to go to heaven when we leave this world. This includes being rich and powerful. This also includes people who think they will be allowed intp heaven if they do good deeds and are nice people. Becoming a Christian is our only hope. For information on how someone can become a Christian, see chapter 41 of this book - www.areyousureyouaresaved.com

28Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. 29And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, 30But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions (Eventhough Christians experience major blessings when they follow these verses, major trials will also accompany these blessings.); and in the world to come eternal life. (Every Christian who has given up these things so they can witness to and help others in places the Holy Spirit has lead them will recieve much more blessings than they would experience if they hadn't followed the Holy Spirit's leading. These verses don't mean that someone can become a Christian if they give these things up; a Christian recieves assurance of their salvation if they do what the Holy Spirit leads them to do.)  31But many that are first shall be last; and the last first. (In the end, the seemingly important and powerful non-Christians won't be powerful and important. Although, Christians who don't act important and powerful but instead live the kind of lifestyle mentioned in chapter 39 of this book -  www.areyousureyouaresaved.com will be exalted in heaven. Luke 14:11 confirms, "For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.")
